چکیده

In this paper, we discuss integrated vehicle slip ratio control under both deceleration and acceleration without the need for controller switching, and also propose a design method for such an integrated slip ratio controller. When a vehicle switches from acceleration to deceleration and vice versa, the slip ratio varies discontinuously. Here, the slip ratio is approximated to a continuous function by using a sigmoid function. And a controller is then designed by using feedback linearization based on the approximated slip ratio. The stability of the designed control system is proven by Lyapunov stability theorem. Furthermore, we propose a robust control method based on a disturbance observer and sliding mode control theory. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through numerical simulation.

Application of fuzzy control algorithms for electric vehicle antilock braking/traction control systems

The application of fuzzy-based control strategies has recently gained enormous recognition as an approach for the rapid development of effective controllers for nonlinear time-variant systems. This paper describes the preliminary research and implementation of a fuzzy logic based controller to control the wheel slip for electric vehicle antilock braking systems (ABSs). As the dynamics of the br...

Constrained Nonlinear Estimation of Road Friction Coefficient and Wheel Slip for Control of Anti-Lock Braking System

In designing the anti-lock braking system (ABS), some states and parameters of vehicle system such as road friction of coefficient and wheel slip should be estimated due to lack of cost effective and reliable sensors for direct measurement. Because of nonlinear characteristics of vehicle dynamics and tire forces, development of a nonlinear estimation algorithm is necessary. However, considerati...

Effects of sliding surface on the performances of adaptive sliding mode slip ratio controller for a HEV

Slip ratio control of a ground vehicle is an important concern for the development of antilock braking system (ABS) to avoid skidding when there is a transition of road surfaces. In the past, the slip ratio models of such vehicles were derived to implement ABS. It is found that the dynamics of the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is nonlinear, time varying and uncertain as the tire-road dynamics i...

A Nonlinear Control Design for Tracked Robots with Longitudinal Slip

Abstract: This paper presents an adaptive control strategy for a tracked mobile robot, in which the longitudinal slip of the left and right tracks are described by two unknown parameters. It is assumed that the kinematic model of the tracked robot is approximated by the one of a differential wheeled robot. An adaptive nonlinear feedback control law that compensates for the longitudinal slip is ...
